This change was brought about by the addition of Word Press to this site. Word Press will allow me to let everyone know the latest happenings and changes to this website by posts to the home screen. This change meant changing the look of the home screen and moving the main genealogy pages

My latest search was into Benton County, Missouri for 4 cemeteries last weekend.
My search started off with looking for the 
Fristoe Cemetery , Fristoe, Benton County, Missouri, USA. which took us onto a dirt road and and after 7 miles on this back woods country road it ended abruptly in a dead end as the road in front of us was under water. We backed up and turned around and headed toward the next one which was the 
LP Union Cemtery, Benton County , Missouri, USA which ended in not much better luck as the sign read “Bridge Out Ahead”
I was not going to get discouraged as this was winter in Missouri so one more try and it was this time to
Spring Branch Church of the Bethren and Cemetery – (Dunkard), Avery, Benton County, Missouri, USA
Travel to this cemetery was a success and it is located in the most beautiful valley called “Breshears Valley” in Benton County. The cemetery is part of the Spring Branch Church of the Bethren and sits to the right of the church and is mostly Breshears descendants. As time would allow I took photos of most of the headstones with the help of my husband Robert. I also have photos of the cemetery and surrounding area attached to Spring Branch Cemetery
With that cemetery done and time getting short we had time for one more cemetery which was Shady Grove Cemetery, Racket, Benton County, Missouri, USA
Well that is the latest adventure and stayed turned for the next one!
My German heritage
Growing up, I knew of of my German heritage but not until I began a search for my “roots” did I discover through the amazing research of my newly found cousin, George Valko, that my Grandmother was a Volga German.
I found that she was one of many ethnic Germans living along the Volga River in Russia around Saratov and to the south whose ancestors left Germany to settle in the Volga River region who would maintain the German culture, language and traditions.
